Genesis 38:28 says, “And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.” Now there is a baby who really wants to be born first to claim his riches. And as fast as god is killing the other brothers in his family he may be next in line really soon. Little does he know the family he is being born into. They don’t play by the rules. But I guess what makes this story bazaar is how in all that is good and right does this baby in the womb know that he had to be born first?
