Genesis 47:7 says, “And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.” It doesn’t just say it once but Genesis 47:10 says, “And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.” By having two verses say this it must be important but as I said earlier, why would the Pharaoh sit and be blessed by anybody? He IS a god! He is being overly kind to these Israelites who come to his land in the middle of a famine and is going to tolerate being blessed by some shepherd who in the eyes of an Egyptian is an abomination? Who the Egyptians are so xenophobic about they wont eat with? I just can’t see this happening for one moment.
