Exodus 1:20 says, “Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.” So the midwives lied and god liked it? I understand that they saved the firstborn male children but they did not stand before Pharaoh and tell the truth and Pharaoh knew that the Hebrew males were being born and living so they weren’t really protecting them from him having knowledge of the events? Why lie and why wouldn’t god be mad at their lie?
