Isaac is a liar like dad.

Gen 26:7 says, "And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon." The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Isaac tells the same, "my wife is my sister" story that Abraham told twice. God rewardes Abraham each time he lied so maybe god thinks it is good to lie.

Desipsed?

Gen 25:29says, "And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
30And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 25:31And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 25:32And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?25:33And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 25:34Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright." I wouldn't say he despised his birthright. The dictionary says dispise means to regard with contempt, distaste, disgust, or disdain; scorn; loathe. He was so hungry he was about to die so he gave away something that meant little to him. To say he despised it is kind of weird. Maybe he should despise his brother for being so underhanded.

We have ghosts in us?

Gen 25:8 says, "Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people." Gave up the ghost? You mean he doesn't believe in the holy spirit? Is he haunted? Did he call Ghostbusters?

Concubines? Does god know about this?

Gen 25:6 says, "But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had" He has multiple concubines? Really? And god knows about this? I hope not because in Gen 2:24 the bible says, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." I guess this means they shall be one unless the man sees another woman of whom he would like to have himself known (sex.)

Abraham gets married again at 100+

He's got to be well over 100 by now. Gen 25:1 says, "Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah." Then she bears him children. Can you imagine sleeping with a 100 plus man. Ewe.

What does this mean?

Gen 24:60 says, “And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.”  I have no idea what this means?  The gate of those which hate them?

How did he know?

Gen 24:43 says, “Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;” How did he know she was a virgin?  Kind of psychic or did he have a little first hand knowledge?

Whose god?

Gen 24:12 says, “And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.”  Why is this guy praying to Abraham’s god?  Why not pray to his own god?  Aren’t they the same god anyway?

Under whose thigh?

Gen 24:2 says, “And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:

24:3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:”  At first Abraham just kind of grossed me out here, but the god of Abraham has people swear by putting their hands under other guys thighs?  Maybe those Catholic priests are Ok after all.

How does he know this?

Gen 23:9 says, “That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.”  How would he know about the cave of Machpelah if he was a stranger and a sojourner like it says in Gen 23:4?

Stranger, Lord, or Prince?

Gen 23:4 says, “I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”  So Aberham is a stranger here but wait?  Gen 23:6 says, “Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.”  Why do they call him a lord?  Later they say he is a mighty prince among them.  I thought he was a stranger.  Now we already know Abraham has a problem lying to foreigners.  Did he stretch the truth about his status to them a little?

Monogamy?

Gen 22:24 says, “And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah”  I guess god isn’t big on monogamy if you are a guy.  Hagar was a bondswoman which I believe was a slave.  Oh to be a guy back then.  Does anyone understand why women believe in this religion?

Multiply shmultiply

Gen 22:17 says, “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;” How many times will god tell Abraham that his seed will be multiplied in ludicrous amounts before Abraham will see through this empty promise.  Abraham only has two kids.

I swear to me

Gen 22:16 says, “And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:” God swears to himself?  Has anyone ever done that?
Next time I have jury duty I am going to turn down the swearing in and ask if I can swear to myself.

Why does god need burnt offerings?

Gen 22:13 says, “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.”  Why does god need burnt offerings?  He stops Abraham from murdering his son and then sets up a ram to be killed and burned.  What does this say about the Christian god?  Nowhere have I read why god wants things killed and burned for him.  The covenant was man chopping off his foreskin not killing and grilling.

God doesn’t know once again

Gen 22:12 says, “And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.”  Why in all that is good would you subject young Isaac to this trauma?  His dad ready to kill him.  Shouldn’t god have known what Abraham would do?  Why would someone who already knows what will happen in Revelations not know what a simple creation of his would do?  These passages titled god does not know should be proof he either does not care about us or does not know for one second what we will do.

Abraham knew it was a test.

Gen 22:7 says, “Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.”  OK, they gave the plot away here.  If Isaac was going to be the sacrifice then why would Abraham say god would provide the sacrifice?  It is going to be Jesus.

God wants Abraham to sacrifice what?

Gen 22:2 says, “And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”  God wants Abraham to sacrifice Issac?  I thought through him he would build a great nation.  It must be a test cause god never goes back on a promise (if you believe that you havn’t been reading the bible with me this far.)  Abraham isn’t even protesting like he did for Lot.  Saved Lot and changed gods mind once but in the case of his beloved son, he must know it is a test.  Then again he did cast his other son into the wilderness to die.  He doesn't even seem upset.

Witness?

Gen 21:30 says, "And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.”  OK, talking snakes was one thing but now sheep as witnesses?

Poor Hagar

Gen 21:14 says, “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

21:15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

21:16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.”  So, gods great guy gives his poor slave a bottle of water and some bread and casts her out into the wilderness where she would probably die.  What a guy.

Abimelech pays

Gen 20:14 says, “And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.

20:15 And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.

20:16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

20:17 So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

20:18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.”  It is pretty bad when you get lied to, threatened by the liars god and then have to pay the liar for the damage done to you?  This is seriously twisted.

Apologize already

Gen 20:11 says, “And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.  20;12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.”  Once again instead of telling the truth and apologizing Abraham makes a cover story.  I guess Abraham didn’t think god would protect him from Abimelech.

Lot will pray for thee?

Gen 20:7 says, “Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.”  God almost kills one man and plagues another because of Abraham”s lies and he says he is a prophet?  He will pray for thee?  What kind of standards does god have for his chosen?

Freewill

Gen 20:6 says, “And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.”  God can withhold us from sinning?  Where was he with all these other people.  I am sure Cain would have loved for his sin to be withheld.  Or maybe Eve could have been saved from her sin and we wouldn’t need this strange book.  What about freewill?

God changes his mind again.

Gen 20:3 says, “But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

20:4 But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, LORD, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?

20:5 Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.

20:6 And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.

20:7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.”  First he calls Abimelech a dead man then he says he can live.  All because Abraham lied and God knows all about it.  I don’t understand.

Abraham lies again

Gen 20:2 says, “And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.”  I can’t believe he tells the same lie again.  God likes this guy?

Moabites?

Gen 19:37 says, ”And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.”  Where do the Moabites live?  I have never heard of them outside of this book but it says they are still around.  What about the Ammons (19:38)?

God saved Lot why?

Gen 19:32says, “ Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.  19:33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.  19:34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.  19:35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.  19:36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.”  OK, now I understand the daughters found some wine in a cave in the mountains and had sex with dad while he was drunk.  I am just asking how drunk could he have been.  These are the only two girls around.  Who did you think you were with?  If he was so drunk he was unconscious how could he have had sex with them?  And all importantly, what kind of upbringing made these sick sisters?  Who would let their kids read this?

I thought Lot feared the mountains?

Gen 19:30 says, “And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.”  I thought Lot was afraid of the evil in the mountains?

Fire? Brimstone? In heaven?

Gen 19:24 says, “Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven” Why is there fire and brimstone in heaven?  Are we being misled?  I thought heaven was nice and that fire and brimstone was in hell?

If there was evil in the mountain…

Gen 19:19 says, “Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:”  If there was evil in the mountain why would god want to send Lot there?  Why not just cleanse it at the same time with Sodom and Gomorrah since he was in a cleansing mood?

Lot changes gods mind?

Gen 19:17 says, “And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

19:18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD:

19:19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:

19:20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.

19:21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.

19:22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.”  Shouldn’t an all-knowing god know that Lot would want to go to Zoar?  Why try to send him to the mountain?  God should have seen this twist coming.

Lot is good?

Gen 19:15 says, ”And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city” He just offered his daughters up for gang rape and you are saving this man?  Is a good thing to do?  Should we learn our morals from this story?

Lot does what?

Gen 19:5 says, “And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.”  So, let me get this straight.  Lot protected the powerful beings from the mob of rapists by offering to send his virgin daughters out for them to all have anyway they wanted.  What kind of father is he?  I can’t believe this.  We know the angels were powerful because in Gen 19:11 the beings reach outside and smote the crowd with blindness.  Why didn’t the angels even step up in the beginning and protect the besieged family.

Angels eat

Gen 19:1 says, ”And there came two angels to Sodom 19:3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.”  It isn’t anything big but I never pictured ethereal beings eating?

God doesn’t know more things

Gen 18:26 says, “And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”  Shouldn’t an all knowing being be able to tell Abraham exactly how many righteous men are in Sodom?  This guessing game goes on from Gen 18:26 to Gen 18:32.

God doesn’t know again

Gen 18:20 says, “And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know”  He will know?  Why doesn’t he already know?  Why does he have to go there to find out what is going on.  I am really doubting he is omniscient.

God argues with a frightened Sarah.

Gen 18:15 says, “Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.”  A few minutes ago god didn’t even know where Sarah was, now he says he knows she was laughing to herself?  If he did know she laughed then he would know why and that she was scared.  Why question her and put her on the spot?

God gets mad at Sarah for doing what Abraham did?

Gen 18:10 says, “And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

18:13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?”  Why is god questioning why Sarah laughed to herself?  Gen 17:17 says, “Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?”  Abraham literally fell on his face laughing.  God didn’t even question him.  Sarah only laughed to herself.  What is the big deal?  Is god sexist?

Out of his bowels? (I missed one earlier, sorry)

I can't believe I missed this one.  I just found while I was researching my next post.  Gen 15:4 says, “And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.”  Out of his what?  Surely you can’t produce an heir out of there.  Many homosexual men have been trying that everyday with no such luck.  Maybe god, our creator doesn’t know anatomy?

The three gods don’t know again.

Gen 18:9 says, “And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife?”  This it seems is a reoccurring problem with this book.  God, being all knowing should not even think of asking where Abraham’s wife is.  If you know something wouldn’t it be weird to play stupid and ask anyway.

The three gods eat?

Gen 18:8 says, “And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.”  Why would three gods need to eat?  God drifted around in a black void for ever so why now would he have to eat?  I guess if god made man in their own image he would have a stomach and intestines so I guess why not?

More than one god again.

Gen 18:1 says, “And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

18:2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,”  The lord appears to him as three men?  And if I read this correctly they appear next to him but he has to run to meet then.  Maybe back then next to was further away than it is now?

Ishmael gets circumcised?

17:25 says, “And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.”  But I thought god said in Gen 17:20 “And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac,”  So if I am reading this right god is saying that Isaac will receive the covenant but Ishmael wont.  The covenant is explained in Gen 17:11 “And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.”  So why was Ishmael circumcised?  Don’t tell me it was for kicks.

One kid get’s slighted again.

Gen says, “17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.”  But then Gen 17:21 says, “But my covenant will I establish with Isaac,”  This sounds like a reoccurring story here.  First Cain, then Canaan, what is the matter with Ishmael?  You blessed him?  Why isn’t he good enough for circumcision?

Foreskins seal the covenant?

Gen 17:11 says, “And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin” Foreskins?  Couldn’t it be anything else?  Couldn’t we just shave our heads or something?

It is a known fact that many of the cultures at that time in the Middle East practiced circumcision.  It would not have set them apart.  I would love to know though.  Who was the guy who said, “Let me be the first.”

Ishmael; Wild or Great? God doesn’t know again.

17:20 says, “And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.”  This would be good and fine but Gen 16:12 says, “And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”  Which is it?  I guess Omniscient god didn’t know again.

God promises the same thing again?

Gen 17:2 says, “And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.”  Hasn’t god promised this before? In Gen 13:16  God promised him “I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.”  At this time Abram is 99 years old.  What is god waiting for?  Will multiply him exceedingly?  In almost a century god has only given him two children.  I don’t get it?

Angel does not know

16:8 says, “And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go?” Why does the Angel know that she is with child but not where she is going (Gen 16.11)?  If this is true, how did he find her?

Hagar, pregnant again?

16:11 says, “And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.”  Isn’t it weird that she would be pregnant right after she flees from Sarai?  She had just given birth?  That was a quick second pregnancy.  God did say Abrams would have an incredible amount of seed.

Hagar gets the pink slip

Gen 16:4 says, “And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

16:5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.

16:6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.  So, because Hagar gave Sarai a dirty look she was basically banished?  Could it have been that Sarai was jealous?  She gave Hagar to her "old" husband who didn’t protest sleeping with the Egyptian (probably slave) handmaid, Hagar had a right to be a little mad.

How could god allow this?

Gen 16:1 says, “Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

16:3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

16:4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.”  Maybe Abram and Sarai weren’t praying or something but what a cruel joke to give the man god had given a boatload of seed, a wife who could not conceive.  That is just in bad taste.

God did not follow through again

Wait a minute.  My last post is Gen 13:16 which says Abram has as many seeds as the earth has dust.  Why then does he have no seeds later?  Gen 15:2 says, “ And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.”  Now don’t tell me that it is because he hasn’t had time.  He founded a new home after walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it (Gen 13:17.) and fought a war to free Lot.  How much time did a man with a worlds worth of seed need to have a kid?

Abram has a lot of seeds?

Gen 13:16 says, “And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.”  That is a whole lot of kids to have. How could Sarai manage that?  Where did all those kids go?  You would think the world would be overrun with his kin.

Abram is a jerk!

Gen 12:19 says, “now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

12:20 And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.”  The least Abram could have done is to pay Pharaoh for his trouble.  Abram did lie to him.  He could have left something to help with the plagues in Egypt.  It isn’t like Abram was poor.  Gen 13:2 says, “And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”

Two gods again?

Gen 11:7 saya, “Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.”  Who is they?  I thought there was only one god.  Who is he talking to again.  This is the second time he is speaking to more himself.

More unjust punishment

Gen12:15 says, “The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

12:16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.

12:17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.”  The Pharaoh didn’t know because Abram lied to him.  Shouldn’t the liar be punished?  The Pharaoh actually treated him really nice.

Abram lies

Gen12:13 says “Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.”  God sure did make a good choice in Abram.  He lies at the drop of his hat just to save his skin.  And for what.  Didn’t he have faith in the fact that god said he would make a great nation of him?  Guess he didn’t trust in god.

Where did Egypt come from?

Gen 12:10 says, “And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.”  In the generations of Noah it never said anyone built the city of Egypt.  Where did it come from?  And why would they have a Pharaoh?  And worship other Gods.  Didn’t they surely die in the flood?

Abram steals souls.

Gen12:5 says, "And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran"  Was Abram stealing souls?  What souls in Haran? Hey, wasn't Haran his dad?

God doesn’t know yet again

Gen 11:5 says “And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.”  Why did he need to come down and see it. Didn’t he know what they were doing?  I thought man could do nothing without god.  Why would he let them build the tower.  When he went down to see the city and tower did anyone see him?  I believe the sight of god kills man.  Even his voice turns men’s hair white.
