Exodus 25:18 says, “And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.” I thought making imagery was bad. Exodus 20:4 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.” So god is telling Moses to break another of his judgments. Cherubim are from heaven. He even has them replicating things from the earth below. Exodus 25:33 “Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.
25:34 And in the candlesticks shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.”
