Genesis 49:30 says, “In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.
49:31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.” Why wasn’t Israel’s other wife buried in the cave? Genesis 35:19 “And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.” Don’t try to say they were to far away? Joseph came all the way from Egypt to bury Israel in the cave. Was Rachel short changed? I thought she was the favorite. Well, to be honest, it was probably the servants who weren’t even mentioned when they died who got the short end of things.
