Tabernacle of horrors

From Leviticus 1:1 to 7:38 God just tells Moses how to kill things in order to satisfy some silly rules.  As I look at it, god’s tabernacle would have been a place of terrible horrors.  Just try to picture the scene.  Thousands of Hebrews each following god’s rules are bringing animals for slaughter and burning at the house of god.  The stench of burnt flesh, blood.  The sounds of animals dying one after another.  It would have been a river of blood.  A place of death.  Day after day thousands of animals destroyed to fulfill the rules man has broken.  Hundreds would die each day.  What good god would subject his creations to such a life.

If you really want to ruin your next meal read these chapters.  Always read the book to verify what I am writing for yourself.  I want you to understand that this is what the bible says.

Christians try to cover for their gods bad behavior by saying he had to have us do these things to atone for sins or some such nonsense.  Remember, god makes the rules.  He is the one saying if you are bad you must wrench a birds neck.  He could easily have either made us better, or make punishments fitting the crime.  Eating fat from an oxen could have been punished by the sinner getting sick so he doesn’t want to do it again.  Not by cutting him off from his people.  Doesn’t that sound better?  Slaughtering cattle because one violates a law does nothing to the lawbreaker.

I have to ask again: Children are encouraged to read this book?  But they discourage the reading of Harry Potter?
