Gen 24:12 says, “And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.” Why is this guy praying to Abraham’s god? Why not pray to his own god? Aren’t they the same god anyway?

Actually, no, they probably aren't. The bible makes mention of all sorts of other gods. For example, if you ever see the name Ba'al, that's essentially just a word for "local god," rather than a specific deity. For a quick overview of all the gods listed in the bible, see here.
