Gen 17:2 says, “And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.” Hasn’t god promised this before? In Gen 13:16 God promised him “I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.” At this time Abram is 99 years old. What is god waiting for? Will multiply him exceedingly? In almost a century god has only given him two children. I don’t get it?
