God fights our wars for us.

Deuteronomy 20:2 says, " And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, 20:3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; 20:4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." If god is going to fight for our soldiers then why do any of the Hebrews die in battle? Couldn't god just wipe them out for us? But what if the Hebrews fight other Hebrews? Who does he fight for. I have seen Christians fight other Christians. Who gets god on their side?

God is unjust again

Deuteronomy 19:16 says," If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;" didn't the bible just say one man can not rise up against another? Why does god contradict himself like this? And if you are thinking that this i am wrong about this referring to just one man "19:17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;" it goes on and on referring to just two men.

God is unjust again

Deuteronomy 19:15 says, "One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established." So, once again the wisdom of gods words sounds once again for the transversely of crime. This verse is saying that if you are going to commit a crime. Make sure only one person can witness it. Rape would be a good one. There is typically only one witness and that is the victim. Then again, the way a woman are treated in the bible( like cattle), rape is probably ok. I mean, if you look at the wording of this verse witnesses are onlymen. So women should try to avoid having crimes comitted against them. But getting back to the main issue, shouldn't one witness be enough? I mean for a caring just god, why would he need two witnesses?

God contradicts himself again

Deuteronomy says, "19:11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities: 19:12 Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. 19:13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee." isn't this a strange thing for an omniscient (all-knowing) god to say. I believe earlier, in the 10 commandments god said "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus). later, he says in Romans 12:19 "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." why does a supreme being contradict himself. Doesn't that make you think?

Where are the cities for the accidental killers?

Deuteronomy says, "19:7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee. 19:8 And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers; 19:9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:" I wonder where these cities are in modern day Israel. Hmmmm, you know, the three innocent blood cities. Did they forget what god wanted them to do?

God does not teach compassion

Deuteronomy 19:2 says, "Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it. 19:3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither. 19:4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past; 19:5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live: 19:6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past." So, if you kill someone accidentally you are sentenced to live in one of three cities because these bloodthirsty early Christians couldn't control themselves. Instead of teaching them compassion, which must be hard to do given god has taught the Hebrews violence solves problems, god sticks these clumsy killers all together in three separate places. Where is the wisdom?

Read this carefully

Deuteronomy 18:21, says, "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.". This is a key verse. I have actually read this book twice before. Once, when I was born again and then a second time, while I was figuring out that it was not the truth. Jesus predicts in "Luke 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away." It has been more than one generations since his prophesy, if we listen to the LORD, Jesus as well as the New Testament must be rejected. Remember, god knows all and sees all. If we believe that the people who wrote these words would have died, and would continue to die for all the reprints. If Jesus is true than we missed his second coming by a little under 2000 years. How could we have missed the apocalypse. The locusts with scorpion tails. The rapture. Something is very wrong here.

Succeed or usurp?

Deuteronomy 19:1, says, " When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses; 19:2 Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it." Actually, god didn't give this land. The Hebrews had to kill the former inhabitants of these lands. Committing genocide or in the least killing the men and taking the others as slaves. Using the women as breeding stock ie. Raping the slave women. The book never called this rape but if your village was attacked and your husband killed, your son or daughter enslaved, would you willingly have any sexual relations with your captor? So I guess calling it succeeding them and living in their cities is a nice way of saying usurping them and stealing all that they had done. If I am understanding this properly, if my god tells me to go to your house and kill you it is ok. It is even ok to live in your house and play with your stuff. Is this what Christians really believe? I didn't make this up. It is all from the book and you can check up on me by reading my old posts or the book itself.

Don't be afraid of him

Deuteronomy 18:21, says, "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." I thought this false prophet was going to die. Was he saying the man speaking falsely would eventually die of old age or something? I should also point out at this time (probably way too late), that the prophets are always refered to as a man. I understand that woman lead to the expulsion of the garden of Eden, but it has been how many generations and woman are still being treated as cattle. They can't even be false prophets. What's the deal? Why do any women believe in a religion that seems exclusive to man?

God worries about other gods again...

Deuteronomy 18:20, says, "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die." Ummm after Deuteronomy 18:15, once again we have a mention of other gods. Why is an omniscient omnipotent being who knows he is the only one, so paranoid? Were the writers of this book unsure that their god was the only god? It makes you wonder?

I'm Backkkkkk!

I am very sorry I took a leave from this blog. I had to take a break due to a busy life and needing to step away from this terrible book. I am returning now to continue the fight for reason. Please accept my apologies.
