Killing is right and good in the eyes of the lord.

Deuteronomy 6:18 says, “And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers.

6:19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.”  Killing and driving the rightful owners of the land is the right and good thing in the sight of the lord?  Once again I am forced to ask what kind of fellow this god is?  This is horrible and wrong not right and good.  I hope young and impressionable minds are not reading this book.

More gods again?

Deuteronomy 6:14 says, “Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

6:15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.”  Why is he so concerned about pretend gods?  If they are not real what kind of maniac would god be to become jealous?  Or could they be real and his competition?

Swear by gods name?

Deuteronomy 6:13 says, “Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.”  I thought it was a bad thing to swear by his name?

God wants to give us stolen goods?

Deuteronomy 6:10 says, “And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

6:11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;”  Who built these cities?  Who dug these wells?  If they were done by someone else.  Where did they go?  Why would god have to kill people to save his people work.  Doesn’t god love all of us?  Before you say they displeased him think about what you would do to people who displease you.  Would you kill them and then steal their stuff?  The christian’s loving god obviously would.  So far he scares me.  Remember.  He is living with the Israelites and that is the only thing keeping them on the road to salvation.  The people god killed didn’t have him living in their midst.  He must not have liked them to much.

God is one lord?

Deuteronomy 6:4 says, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”  I don’t want to skip ahead and give anything away but I do believe all the christians out there talk about a trinity.  Three gods: the father, the son, and the holy ghost.  It says here that he is one lord so wouldn’t this contradict the whole trinity thingie?  

Fear God. Why? (Is god wrong again?)

Deuteronomy 6:2 says, “That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.”  Why do we need to fear a loving god?  Shouldn’t we just fall in love with him right from the get go if he is perfect and good.  I fall for the Disney princesses every time.  And as for long.  I know a lot of christians who are cut down in the prime of their lives.  I also know Atheists who live very long lives.  Is god wrong again?

Moses speaking for god forgets

Deuteronomy 5:7 says, “Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

5:8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,”  Didn’t he just say in Deuteronomy 4:27, “And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

4:28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.”  So which is it Merciful (Jealous) god?  Should we or shouldn’t we serve other gods especially since you insist upon calling yourself the only god over and over and over again!

Ok only one god. I get it!

Deuteronomy 4:39 says, “Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.”  Why does god keep telling us this?  It is almost like he isn’t the only one.  Like he is lying or he wouldn’t keep mentioning other gods.

Merciful?

Deuteronomy 4:31 says, “(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.”  Has Moses paid attention to his story.  He forsaked thousands of Israelites, and shown mercy to none (just ask Aaron after god killed his sons for lighting incense with strange fire.)  

Unto his voice?

Deuteronomy 4:30 says, “When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;”  Isn’t it funny that Moses would say this when he is the only one god talks to?  No one else (other than Aaron occasionally) has ever heard god’s voice.

Ye shall serve other gods? God is mixed up again

Deuteronomy 4:27 says, “And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

4:28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.”   God is telling his people they will serve other gods?  I thought god hated his people to worship other gods.  One instance in Exodus 23:24 says, “Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.”  Another in Exodus 20:5 says, “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”  Even in Deuteronomy 4:19 the Israelites are told not to worship the sun, moon, or heaven lest they corrupt themselves.  He calls himself a jealous god many times, even as early as Deuteronomy 4:24 “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.”  I thought it was one of his commandments.  If you don’t believe me, go back and read Exodus 32.  God kills many Israelites because they worshipped something other than him.

Jealous god?

Deuteronomy 4:24 says, “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.”  Why doesn’t Jehovah ever refer to himself as a loving god?  Preachers say it but I have yet to see god love anything.

Don’t add to the word?

Deuteronomy 4:2 says, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.”  So, if you can’t add to the word (the commandments) or take away from it, shouldn’t the book be over now.  I mean if nothing is supposed to change than what is the point of writing any more.  If god knows all than this is all we need to know, right?  

More about Giants?

Deuteronomy 2:11 says, “Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites called them Emims. 2:20 (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;”  Once again, where did the Giants come from?  Shouldn’t they have all perished in the flood?

The last word on the book of Numbers.

Numbers is a book full of rules and war.  If an Israelite sins killing a few animals squares the deal with Jehovah and all is forgiven.  The Israelites keep straying from god with dire consequences and they never learn from the past killings of their murderous god.  The children of Israel meet giants and kill many all of the indigenous people they come across.  God even tells them how to divide up the booty (gods words, not mine.) 

I am still in search of the gentle god who loves us in this book but have only seen a jealous god among many other gods who loves spilled blood and burnt offerings.  Excuse me if I will not bow to this bloodthirsty maniac.

Destroy everything in Canaan

Numbers 33:52 says, “Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:”  Isn’t it interesting that thousands of artifacts from the inhabitants of the land the bible refers to as Canaan survive and are in museums today?  So much for destroying everything.

God wants all the women and little boys killed

Numbers 31:17 says, “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

31:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.”  God wants his people to kill all the little boys and women but to take as slaves all the little girls.  What kind of god is this?

Gods wrath was turned?

Numbers 25:11 says, “Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.”  Didn’t he just kill twenty four thousand of them?  Numbers 25:8 “And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

25:9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.”

The Israelites are straying from god again? God kills again

Numbers 25:1 says, “And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

25:2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

25:3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. 25:4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

25:5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

25:6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

25:7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;

25:8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

25:9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.”  When will the Israelites learn not to defy their killer god?  

Unicorns are real

Numbers 23:22 says, “God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.”  Why would the bible refer to the strength of a unicorn if they were not real.  They must have been on Noah’s ark.

Why didn’t god do this before?

Numbers 22:11 says, “Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.

22:12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.

22:13 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.”  Why didn’t god do this with the Amorites in Numbers 21?  He could have saved countless lives of men, women, and children.

God doesn’t know again

Numbers 22:9 says, “And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee?

22:10 And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying,”  Why would an all-knowing god not know who these men were?

God kills women and children

Numbers 21:34 says, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

21:35 So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.”  They smote (killed) all of his people.  That would mean women, children, and babies.  That is sick.

God’s book of wars?

Numbers 21:14 says, “Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,” Why would god need a book of wars.  Especially, if all of mankind is descended from Noah.  Where did the people he warred against come from?

God forgets again

Numbers 21:8 says, “And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.”  I thought that making graven images was bad. Exodus 20:4, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.”   Now why would god order Moses to break gods own rule.

God kills more grumbling Israelites

Numbers 21:5 says, “And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.”  The Israelites should take a hint and just do whatever their homicidal god wants.

Cows are holy now?

Numbers 18:15 says, “Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.

18:16 And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.

18:17 But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor unto the LORD.”  Isn’t that interesting.  I thought they were cursed. Genesis 3:14 “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:”

God kills even more then changes his mind again

Numbers 16:45 says, “Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

16:46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.

16:47 And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.

16:48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

16:49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.

16:50 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.”  When will the Israelites learn just to do whatever their god wants or they will be killed.  Luckily Moses seems to have the power to stop his gods murderous hand.

Glory of the lord?

Numbers 16:41 says, “But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.

16:42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.”  I’ll bet the children of Israel wouldn’t call it the glory.  He is methodically killing anyone who grumbles because they don’t understand.  I would call it the terror of the lord.

God kills again

Numbers 16:35 says, “And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.”  They seem to be trying to appease this mad god and he kills them anyway.  I don’t get it.

God kills more discontent Israelites

Numbers 16:30 says, “But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.

16:31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:

16:32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

16:33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.”  Why not just speak directly to them.  Like a parent would.  Show them how they are wrong.

God doesn’t know again…

Numbers 14:26 says, “And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

14:27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.”  Shouldn’t you know how long god?  You will turn from them in the New Testament.  Maybe you are learning that killing people for complaining doesn’t silence the discontent.  Maybe you should heed your commandment Thou shalt not kill.

Moses changes gods mind

Numbers Says, “14:12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

14:13 And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

14:14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

14:15 Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

14:16 Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

14:17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

14:18 The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

14:19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

14:20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:”  Now why would a god who supposedly knows everything have to have a mere human figure that out for him?  I thought he knew everything.

Haven’t they learned?

Numbers 14:2 says, “And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

14:3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

14:4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt”  The last people who complained got leprosy (Numbers 12) and before that they died of gods fire (Numbers 11.)  Are they slow learners or crazy?

Giants? Where did they come from?

Numbers 13:33 says, “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”  Where did the Giants come from?  Did Noah have some of them on the ark.  Funny, the bible never mentioned giants on the ark.  

Stealing fruit

Numbers 13:22 says, “And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

13:23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

13:24 The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.

13:25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

13:26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.”  Isn’t this stealing or does that law, only come into play, when it is between Israelites?

Why send spies?

Numbers 13:17 says ,”And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

13:18 And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

13:19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;”  Why send spies when god made a promise in Numbers 10:9, “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”

A baby’s flesh is half consumed when it comes from the womb

Numbers 12:12 says, “Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.”  What?  I never knew a babies flesh was half consumed when it came out of the womb.

Unfair punishment again

Numbers 12:9 says, “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

12:10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

12:11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.” Miriam’s only crime was that she spoke out against Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman.  Numbers 12:1 “And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.” Moses’s original wife was Zipporah, Exodus 2:21 “And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter” Miriam was Aaron’s sister the Prophetess.  The big question is why didn’t Aaron get punished also.  He should have become leprous too.

They are also not following the Law of Leprosy found in Leviticus 13.

God kills more complainers

Numbers 11:33 says, “And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

11:34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.”  Now he kills the complainers with a plague.  God sure is understanding, isn’t he?  You would have thought god would have foreseen this problem.

God gets mixed up

Numbers 11:19 says, “Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

11:20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?”  But in the line before these two god says, Numbers 11:18 “And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.”  So which is it?

The rules don’t apply to Moses

Numbers 11:11 says, “And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favor in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

11:12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

11:13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

11:14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

11:15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.”  Moses can complain all he wants and god doesn’t kill him.  I wonder why. Numbers 11:1 “And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.”


Loving understanding god?

Numbers 11:1 says, “And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

11:2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.”  The people complain and god kills them with fire.  I sure am glad Moses prayed so the mad god would stop killing the unhappy people.  Maybe Moses should have prayed sooner.  Then maybe god would have held off on the fire.  This should be a lesson to all who believe in this god.  Always be happy and never complain of your toast.

Sacrifices of your peace offerings?

Numbers 10:10 says, “Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.”  Isn’t the phrase, “sacrifices of your peace offerings” a little redundant? 

Maybe god could eliminate the need for the alarm

Numbers 10:9 says, “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”  Maybe god could make it so they wouldn’t need to go to war.  Then they wouldn’t need to blow the alarm.

Do they still do this?

Numbers 10:8 says, “And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.”  The Jews are now all over the world.  Do they still do this?  If so, how does all of them hear the trumpets?  God said forever didn’t he?  If they don’t do this now then they are going against god.  If god changed this rule you’d think an all knowing being would have known not to say forever.
