They still traveled?

Exodus 40:36 says, “And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

40:37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.”  Can you imagine the huge trouble of taking gods house apart to move it when the Israelites traveled?  Couldn’t god just have appeared as a pillar like he did when they first left Egypt? Exodus 13:21 “And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:”  It would have been easier for his people.  All the tabernacle was is a portable slaughterhouse for his burnt offerings.  They could have killed, sprinkled blood, and burnt flesh out in the open like the good old days.  Why go through the trouble?

      I really don't. I would love to have a group in the pittsburgh area that I could meet with to discuss these and other thoughts with. A bunch of freethinkers.

      The only other place I post is on Twitter. I'm a public figure in Pennsylvania. It's illegal for me to work for the state and be an atheist so I have to keep a low profile until I retire. I'm glad you like my blog. I've started posting again and words like yours will keep me going. I'm thinking about publishing it as a book. what do you think?
