Prophet?
Deuteronomy 18:15 says, “ The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;” But a few verses before the bible says, “18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee” Is there a difference between a prophet and these other people?
Fear AGAIN???
Deuteronomy 17:13 says, “And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.” Why does a supreme being need to gain obedience through fear?

Thou shalt not KILL?
Deuteronomy 17:7 “The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.” I thought god told us not to kill “Exodus 20:13 Thou salt not kill” Shouldn’t the victim be the first to get vengeance? So much for an impartial jury.
Only 2 or 3 witnesses…
Deuteronomy 17:6 says, “At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.” It takes a lot more than a few witnesses to put people to death right now. DNA evidence has saved hundreds from death row who were tried and wrongly convicted of crimes. Why would god let just two or three witnesses decide a man’s fate if we now know they could make a very big mistake?
More gods again?
Deuteronomy says, “17:2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant, 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.” If god is the ONLY god why is he so hung up on man worshipping make-believe gods? Why would he get jealous of some being that wasn’t there? He only seems to care for the Israelites so why care what his other creations do?
Another thought would be didn’t he tell us not to kill? Did I miss the disclaimer saying unless the person believes in make-believe beings.

God forgets again…
Deuteronomy 16:22 says, “Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.” That would be any image as Exodus 20:4 says, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.” God should have remembered what he told them.
Freewill offering?
Deuteronomy 16:10 says, ”And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:” If god is commanding an offering how can it be by freewill?
God endorses slavery
Deuteronomy 15:12 says, “And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee. 15:13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty: 15:14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him. 15:15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.” You would think that since god freed the Israelites he wouldn’t want they to buy and sell themselves. Slavery is slavery.
God forgets (I know) again…
Deuteronomy 15:11 says, “For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.” But didn’t god just say, Deuteronomy 15:4 “Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:” If there is always going to be poor then when is this time when there will be no poor? I think god wasn’t paying attention to himself.
God chooses where you eat
Deuteronomy 14:23 says, “And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.” God chooses where you eat? I never knew that. He must have chosen my couch because I eat there a lot.
